1 Timothy 2:8-10
This is part one of a passage in which Paul speaks directly to men then to women about their role in worship.
Men: Pray in a holy manner – The external raising of holy hands was to be an indication of internal cleanness including the absence of relational conflict.
Paul challenges men at a common point of weakness: anger & arguing; leading in relational context.
Women: Proper personal conduct for corporate worship – Call to modesty so that won’t be a distraction from worship rather to show your good works.
Modesty is a reflection of the heart.
Paul challenges women at common point of weakness: self-image.
