Courageous–review

One of the readers of this blog sent me this review of Courageous.

Thanks to Dan Lyle (Dan is a worship pastor and long time friend, check out his site and music).

Its was great!  Honestly, I was really surprised.  Christian movies are
typically bad…  Bad, acting, bad writing, bad production.  Not the case
with courageous.  The acting was great.  I actually found myself emotionally
identifying and relating with the actors/characters…  That’s the evidence
of good acting.  The writing was amazing.  And the storyline and charter
development was extremely well thought out.  The production was on par with
any police drama (TV or movie) I have ever seen.

One of my favorite parts about the movie were the scenes where they
discussed spiritual matters.  In most christian movies these dilogs come
across as being forced, cliche, and cheesy.  This movies was wholly
different…  The conversations were very natural and relatable.  I felt
like it reflected the types of conversations I have in my own relationships.

The other thing I really liked about it was the development of the five
guys…  I think that any father could relate to one of the five…  One guy
was pretty much a great Dad.  One guys was a pretty good dad that need to
make some improvements.  One guy was a dead beat died who turns everything
around.  And one guy was a dad who “let go of the wheel” but is not without
remorse and the potential of redemption.

Overall…  I thought it was great!

I love to study the Bible and I love to engage with others in learning. I had been privileged to do this on a regular basis through church ministry and through part-time teaching at a local Bible colleges. Helping individuals learn to feed themselves through their own study of God’s Word is joy-giving to me. Influencing groups to do life and church from a biblically grounded, theologically faithful perspective is my passion.
