Reading the Bible

The Bible is both literature and the primary source of information about God and from God.  So we must learn to read it well.

Here is a simple list of actions to do while your read.  (Next post will include a fuller process.)

  • Read: Conscious concentration with repetition.
  • Record:  Write down what you see in what your read: observation, key thought, insights, summarize.
  • Reflect:  Meditate–ask yourself what is going on in the passages; what can you learn about God, yourself; what do you need to do.
  • Respond: Act on the truth you have learned

Author: Steve

I love to study the Bible and I love to engage with others in learning. I had been privileged to do this on a regular basis through church ministry and through part-time teaching at a local Bible colleges. Helping individuals learn to feed themselves through their own study of God’s Word is joy-giving to me. Influencing groups to do life and church from a biblically grounded, theologically faithful perspective is my passion.
